We arrived at Dulles airport with very much time to baggage-check our chair-detection devices and pass through security. It was clear to us that “the opposition” had tampered with flight schedules - - our flight was delayed by 45 minutes, putting great pressure on our west-coast connection, initially allowing us nearly an hour to change planes. Thinking quickly, we headed for the bar - - this DID NOT help our timing but it DID help us not care so much. I made a point to sit in as many seats as possible, just to make sure that the object of our trip wasn’t under our noses, as it were(n’t)

We sweet-talked (and beer-breathed) the flight crew and they persuaded the pilot to place a brick on the gas pedal. We hopped our second flight with no less than 45 seconds to spare.

On the other end, two people and all bags arrived safe and sound.

From the airport, we grabbed a cab to downtown Sydney. Considering our quest, this image

Operatives were everywhere. . .

But Victoria played it cool, taking full advantage of her name. . .
